Next up!

I am pleased to announce that I just submitted my FINAL assignment for my undergrad! What an amazing relief! However…graduate school starts on August 24th, so I will be drowning again soon enough.

With that being said, I have a lot of writing activities planned for my month off between colleges. Change of Heart is currently in its beta phase and will be until August 3rd. At that point I will be focusing on implementing the feedback I received so I can have it to my editor by September 1st. Looking at possible October/November release. Stay tuned for that!

I’ve got this issue where if I don’t have something to do, I tend to get myself into some kind of trouble. Like with Our Moon, I started going stir crazy waiting for beta feedback (pretty much started five minutes after I sent it out) so I started implementing the feedback I had already received and by the time I got all the feedback, I realized I could have, and in some places, should have, implemented things differently. Revisions and edits were a mess after that and while everything worked out, it just took longer than planned to sort myself out. So, needless to say, this time around, I’m keeping myself busy so I don’t do that again!

Busy doing what? Starting Trevor’s story, of course!!

Here’s how I write: I have several random story ideas written down. When I’m ready to write a story, I see which story is speaking to me the loudest. After I finished Our Moon, I started writing Change of Heart because the story was yelling at me! I had tried to do Joey and Evie’s short story, but Change of Heart was just in my face. So that’s what I went with.

Now I’ve got two stories making a ruckus in my head, one is Trevor’s and the other is a couple side characters from Change of Heart, but I’m going to write Trevor’s story next because readers have been asking for it and they don’t know these other characters yet, so those can wait. For now…

But anyway…I don’t like to force my writing, I like for it to flow. I like for the ideas to pop into my head so my actual thinking is limited. I know how lame that probably sounds, but I want this to be fun for me, and if I start making myself write stuff, it’s not going to be fun anymore. So that’s what happened with Joey and Evie’s story. Ideas weren’t popping into my head – and maybe that’s because their story has already happened and we already know the end result, so it’s filler stuff I need and I want that to be goooood. Who knows…all I know is that their story WILL be written, just not sure when. I’ve got Trevor’s story pretty well thought out and an idea for Alex’s, so I’ve definitely got enough to keep me busy for a while!
